Downgrade iOS 7 to iOS 6.1.4 for other compatible devices and only iOS 6.1.3 for iPhone 4S. This downgrade procedure isn’t exactly as simple as restoring through iTunes. There’s a few clever tricks which need to be applied in order to downgrade iOS 7 to iOS 6.
Step 1: You’ll need iOS 6.1.4 IPSW or iOS 6.1.3 IPSW depending upon your device.
Step 2: Fire up iTunes on your Windows or Mac computer.Step 3: You’ll now need to put your device in DFU mode. You can do that by following these steps:
- Press and hold both the Home button and Power button on top for 10 seconds
- After 10 seconds release the Power button but keep holding the Home button until iTunes tells you that your iOS device has been detected in recovery mode
Step 5: Select the corresponding IPSW file for your device that you downloaded in step 1. Click on the Restore button, then sit back and relax for approximately 10 minutes.
From here on out, everything happens automatically. iTunes will downgrade iOS 7 to iOS 6 on your device, on its own. Once its done, your device will restart and iTunes will prompt you that a restore has been successful.
